Clozapine is an extremely effective, yet complex medication. In order to maximise the benefits and minimise the side-effects patients will undergo a range of physical health checks throughout the course of their treatment.
The most pivotal of these checks is the full blood count (FBC) without which, clozapine cannot be administered here in the United Kingdom. An Introduction to Haematology gives an introduction and basic overview of haematology together with the types and functions of the different cells that make up our blood and can be downloaded and used as an educational resource to share with patients.
