This module provides a useful refresher in haematology for mental healthcare providers caring for people who are being treated with the mood-stabiliser lithium, or antipsychotic medicines, in particular, clozapine.

In addition to providing a concise reminder of the types and functions of the different cells that make up our blood, this module, and accompanying resources, reinforces the vital role certain haematological checks play in helping to  keep patients safe and well.

This module provides a useful refresher in pharmacology for mental healthcare providers caring for people who are being treated with certain psychotropic medicines.

In addition to reinforcing the differences between pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, it provides a helpful reminder as to the importance of a drug’s pharmacology in understanding, predicting and managing an individual’s response to certain medications. 

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring- A Concise Clinical Overview

This module provides an important fore-runner to module ‘Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Clinical Practice’.

In addition to providing background and financial and clinical context to TDM, this module provides a useful overview of both sample collection and result interpretation.

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring In Clinical Practice

This module takes you through the process of TDM for the 6 antipsychotic medicines : clozapine, olanzapine, resperidone/paliperidone, quetiapine, aripiprazole and haloperidol.

In addition to reviewing the pharmacology of the various drugs and their formulation, this module provides guidance on why and when the sample should be taken, together with interpreting the results.
